Garrett’s life story will be shared during his visitation, Thursday, January 17th, 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane, (Between 390 & Long Pond Rd.) His funeral mass will be celebrated, Friday January 18th, 11:30 AM at Our Mother of Sorrows Church, 5000 Mt. Read Blvd., immediately following Garrett’s funeral mass he will be entombed in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to JDRF, Eastern PA Chapter, 555 Croton Rd., Suite 111, King of Prussia, PA 19406 in Garrett’s memory.

Garrett was born in Rochester. As a toddler Garrett’s favorite activity was playing on his rocking horse.  He also loved “Star Wars.”  He played little league and football.  Every summer afternoon, he played baseball in the front yard.  He loved amusement parks and thrill rides. Garrett developed a love of football and has been a dedicated Raiders fan since their Super Bowl victory in 1981!  That is a testament to Garrett’s loyalty. During grade school, Garrett had 2 paper routes and developed a strong work ethic. Garrett had a love for numbers and math.  He could do math problems quicker than a calculator.

Garrett attended McQuaid High School. During high school, he ran x-country, participated in Youth and Government and Mock Trial, and enjoyed going to football games. He worked at Schaller’s every weekend.  Garrett continued his Jesuit education at LeMoyne College in Syracuse and graduated with a degree in Human Resources. He decided to attend Albany Law School and graduated with a Juris Doctor with concentrations in Business Law and Intellectual Property.  Garrett believed in working hard and playing even harder.

After all his education, Garrett decided to go in business for himself.  He started his own construction company - Greater Rochester Roofing.  He enjoyed being his own boss

Garrett had 4 nieces whom he loved dearly. He wanted to only be associated with “fun” activities.  He loved spoiling the girls with presents.  He took the girls to multiple amusement parks, zoos, children’s museums, miniature golfing, trampoline parks, and on go-karts.  He loved talking on the phone with his nieces and cherished their artwork.

Garrett (AKA “the gooze”) played poker every Monday night.  He was the candy supplier, and apparently had a very good poker face. On Sundays, Garrett dedicated his day to football.  He loved relaxing and eating wings. Garrett enjoyed trying new restaurants.

Garrett was well loved by his friends and family.  He was loyal and generous.  He was a giver and believed firmly that actions spoke louder than words.  He was sentimental and enjoyed hearing stories and reminiscing about his childhood.  He was funny and spontaneous.  He was hard-working and celebrated others’ accomplishments while frequently minimizing his own. Garrett will be greatly missed and will be remembered in the hearts of all those he touched.
