Obituary of Concetta Cipolla


September 22, 2018 at the age of 79. Concetta is predeceased by her parents, Salvatore & Nancy Galvano. She is survived by her husband, Biagio Cipolla; sons, Joseph (Sandra) Cipolla & Sam (Amy) Cipolla; granddaughter Samantha Cipolla; siblings, Tony (Annette) Galvano, Stephen (Vivian) Galvano, Dominick (Debbie) Galvano, Alfonso (Caroline) Galvano, Maria (Efrain) Torres; several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Concetta's life story will be shared during her visiting hours, Thursday, Sep. 27th, 4-8 PM at the funeral home, 1411 Vintage Lane (Between 390 & Long Pond Rd.). Her Life will be Celebrated, Friday, Sep. 28th, 11AM at Rochester Christian Church Ministries, 3177 Lyell Rd., immediately followed by being laid to rest in Riverside Cemetery.


Concetta was born on May 13, 1939 to Salvatore & Nancy Galvano in Raffadali, Italy. She grew up with 5 siblings and moved to the United States in the 1960’s.


After arriving to America, Concetta met her husband Biagio through her church. They were married on May 21, 1966. They went on to have 2 children, Joseph and Sam.


During her adulthood, she worked at Delco Products as an Assembler. Outside of work, Concetta was very devoted to her religion and her church as she was known as the “prayer warrior.” She did a lot of volunteer work through her church, such as holiday meals and daycare.  Concetta enjoyed giving to others, she would cook her wonderful meals for very grateful church members.


Many church members went to Concetta for guidance and she was happy to help. In fact, she wouldn’t give up helping someone until they overcame their challenges. Concetta loved spending time with her family and especially loved cooking for everyone.


Her signature dish was lasagna and her stuffed roles and cookies were adored by all for many years. Concetta also liked to sew and garden flowers. Concetta was described as altruistic, generous, sincere and considerate. She was known to be approachable, reliable, loyal and hard working.


Concetta was a passionate person who was also humble and had the ability to easily spread her love to many people throughout her life. Concetta will always be fondly remembered by many people that crossed paths with her and she will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
